Title

AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING ADMINISTRATION-STANDARD REVIEW PROCEDURES-SUMMARIES OF OPPOSITION ARGUMENTS AND OBJECTIONS for the purpose of requiring a summary of testimony in opposition and in support of proposed development applications, as expressed through oral or written testimony submitted during consideration of certain development applications pursuant to the Zoning Ordinance.

 

Background

Both state and local laws provide general parameters for the review of zoning/land use entitlement applications and disposition by administrative agencies. The Zoning Ordinance sets forth the specific procedures for submission, consideration, and participation in the application process, as well as decision standards to be employed by the administrative body. This bill will enhance public understanding of the administrative body's decision by requiring an assessment of opposition arguments and testimony within the administrative record for County zoning/development applications.
