Title

AN ACT CONCERNING YEAR-ROUND JOBS PROGRAM FOR UNDERSERVED YOUTH for the purpose of establishing an employment program for low-income youth and young adults throughout the calendar year to improve socioeconomic outcomes for low-income youth and families in Prince George’s County.

Background

This legislative bill aims to create a permanent employment program to provide year-round job opportunities for underserved youth in Prince George's County. Beginning in Fiscal Year 2027, the program will connect underserved youth to positions within County agencies, private businesses, nonprofits, and partner organizations, while also offering training and enrichment opportunities. The initiative is designed to improve economic stability and open long-term career pathways for the County's youth.
