Title
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING U.S. FOREIGN-TRADE ZONE NO. 63 for the purpose of approving application to the U.S. Foreign-Trade Zones Board for reorganization of U.S. Foreign-Trade Zone No. 63 and delegating the County's administrative role and functions to the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation.
Background
In 1980, the County made application to the U.S. Foreign-Trade Zones Board to establish, operate and maintain a foreign-trade zone.  The U.S. Foreign-Trade Zone Board issued Board Order No. 167 approving the application and making Prince George's County Grantee of U.S. Foreign-Trade Zone No. 63.  Foreign-Trade Zones were established to expedite and encourage foreign commerce.  The proposed legislation supports application for reorganization of U.S. Foreign-Trade Zone No. 63 under the Alternative Site Framework and delegates the County's administrative role and functions to the Economic Development Corporation.
