Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING STATE OF MARYLAND COMMUNITY LEGACY PROGRAM for the purpose of approving the application submitted by the Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc. (“HIP”) to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for Community Legacy Program funds in the approximate amount of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00).

Background

This Resolution is for the purpose of approving the application submitted by the Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc. (“HIP”) to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for Community Legacy Program funds in the approximate amount of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00).

HIP plans to use the Community Legacy Program funds to support the Kentland/Palmer Park Acquisition and Rehab Project (the “Project”).  The Project strives to improve the habitability and energy efficiency of the County’s housing stock by acquiring and rehabilitating four (4) vacant and/or distressed homes in the Kentland/Palmer Park area, a Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative (“TNI”) area.  The rehabilitated homes will be sold to low to moderate income buyers.
