A RESOLUTION CONCERNING STATE OF MARYLAND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM COVID ROUND 2
FUNDING APPLICATION for the purpose of supporting the application submitted by Prince George’s County, through its Department of Housing and Community Development for funding in the amount of two million, six hundred seventy two thousand, seven hundred twenty-five dollars ($2,672,725.00) from the State of Maryland Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) Program COVID Round 2 Funding (“COVID Round 2 Funding”) and authorizing the County Executive to execute certain documents required for the submission of the application.
Background
This Resolution will approve the Application submitted by Prince George’s County, through its Department of Housing and Community Development for funding in the amount of two million, six hundred seventy two thousand, seven hundred twenty-five dollars ($2,672,725.00) from the State of Maryland Community Development Block Grant Program (“CDBG”) COVID Round 2 Funding.
The State of Maryland has received an allocation of sixteen million, one hundred forty four thousand, eight hundred eighty-seven dollars ($16,144,887) of Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) Program COVID Round 2 Funding (“COVID Round 2 Funding”) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds are authorized under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”), enacted March 27, 2020 by Congress in part to address a wide variety of needs, including providing shelter to homeless individuals, increasing affordable housing options, and maintaining crucial public services during the current public health outbreak through a formula grant allocation.
