Title

AN ACT CONCERNING PRE-SETTLEMENT AND POST-SETTLEMENT OCCUPANCY AGREEMENTS IN RENTAL HOUSING TRANSACTIONS for the purpose of establishing exemptions from rental licensing requirements for buyers and sellers of real property that enter into Pre-Settlement Occupancy Agreements and Post-Settlement Occupancy Agreements, for a term of 90 days or less, in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Background

This legislation creates an exemption to Prince George's County's rental licensing requirement by excluding Pre-Settlement Occupancy Agreements and Post-Settlement Occupancy Agreements between buyers and sellers of real property in the County from the requirement. This exemption will allow one party to permit the other party to occupy the dwelling, for a term of 90 days or less, either prior to or after the final settlement/sale of the property without the requirement that the parties obtain a rental license.
