Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE GREATER CHEVERLY SECTOR PLAN for the purpose of initiating a new Greater Cheverly Sector Plan for the area of Prince George’s County that includes portions of Planning Areas 69 and 72, and approving Goals, Concepts, Guidelines, and a Public Participation Program for the project.

Background

This Resolution will direct Planning Board staff of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission to initiation a new preliminary Greater Cheverly Sector Plan in order to align outdated policies within existing comprehensive plans with the most to current land use and development policies for Established Communities and associated corridor nodes within the boundaries of the proposed plan area.  In addition, as required by Sections 27-225.01.05 and 27-641 of the Zoning Ordinance, this Resolution reflects the Council’s approval of proposed Goals, Concepts, Guidelines, and Public Participation Program that will guide staff in the preparation of the preliminary sector plan.
