Title: AN ACT CONCERNING OFF-ROAD VEHICLES for the purpose of increasing the civil penalties for a violation regarding off-road vehicles; providing for impoundment as a civil violation as a certain offense, in addition to the existing police powers of impoundment set forth in the Prince George’s County Code; providing that the County Police Department may impound [any] certain off-road vehicles used in certain violations of Division 19, pursuant to the provisions of Division 18 of this Subtitle; and generally relating to off-road vehicles.

Title 

AN ACT CONCERNING OFF-ROAD VEHICLES for the purpose of increasing the civil penalties for a violation regarding off-road vehicles; providing for impoundment as a civil violation as a certain offense, in addition to the existing police powers of impoundment set forth in the Prince George’s County Code; providing that the County Police Department may impound [any] certain off-road vehicles used in certain violations of Division 19, pursuant to the provisions of Division 18 of this Subtitle; and generally relating to off-road vehicles.

 

Background

This bill is regarding the increase of civil penalties for off-road vehicle violations of the Prince George's County Code. Any violation of Division 19 of the Code shall be subject to a civil monetary fine of  Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for the first violation,  One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) for the second violation, and One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and impoundment of the off-road vehicle for any subsequent violation pursuant to the provisions of Subtitle 28 of this Code.
