Title

AN ACT CONCERNING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY for the purpose of upgrading existing classes of work.

Background

This Bill is submitted pursuant to Section 903 of Article IX of the Prince George’s County Charter and Section 16-125 (a) of the County Code.  It proposes to amend the Property Standards Code Enforcement Officer and the Property Standards Inspector class series.

A classification study was conducted which revealed the following amendments and additions needed to be made to the Classification Plan: (1) the Property Standards Inspectors and Property Standards Code Enforcement Officers class series should be amended to include relevant duties and certifications that are necessary for applicable duties and responsibilities (2) both Property Standard Inspectors and Property Standards Code Enforcement Officers salaries are not comparable to those in this region and should be amended to attract and retain talent.

The fiscal impact will be provided by the Office of Management and Budget.
